SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels
“The World We Want is one of freedom and harmony. We must not have to live in fear and uncertainty. Aren’t we entitled to peace and stability? Aren’t we right to expect effective governance and laws?”
What does SDG 16 mean for us?

The anti-trafficking group set up by the Parish of Our Lady of the Valley in the Ribble Valley raises awareness on the nature of human trafficking, often ‘hidden in plain sight’, and educates people on how to spot the signs and how to inform the authorities.
-
Ensuring public access to information and protecting fundamental freedoms (Target 16.10)
Several formal committees of Lancashire County Council are open to the public and are available to watch online. Similarly, members of the public are able to speak at Lancaster City Council meetings whilst minutes, agendas and reports from meetings can be accessed online.
