What does SDG 13 mean for us?

Improving education, awareness-raising and human and institutional capacity on climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction and early warning (Target 13.3)
The Cumbria Development Education Centre is a charity influencing and promoting global learning and citizenship throughout Cumbria. They provide training to teachers and opportunities for schools and communities to engage with a wide range of environmental and social projects, whilst their website offers a range of classroom resources to engage young people with environmental justice.

Integrating climate change measures into national policies, strategies and planning (Target 13.2)
The UK government has set out to decarbonise all sectors of the UK economy by 2050, with Lancashire and Cumbria County Councils outlining their own net zero strategies. The first Lancashire Climate Summit took place in March 2022, the slides from which can be viewed here.
